The Midnight Grace

If you missed service last Sunday at Metro, you missed a timely relevant message about Christ's 2nd coming. So much trouble and confusion in society, yet the bible makes perfect sense of it all through prophesy and teaching. The scripture reading was from Matt 25:1-13, its the story of the 10 virgins, 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. The scriptures says, as they prepared for the bridegroom, the slept and almost missed the moment. At midnight a cry came, "behold He cometh". The midnight cry was referred to in the message as Midnight Grace. Instead of the Lord coming and finding them unprepared, in his graciousness, he sent a wake-up call ahead of his appearance. So many of the unexplained tragedies and disasters we see around the world seem to fit into the teaching of this bible verse. Things that should wake us up from a life of sin and disobedience. Jesus is coming, but He doesn't want to leave anyone behind. Remember He came into the world to save us.

Our social structure is changing rapidly. Our national love of God, church and the bible is giving way to the atheist forces promoted in the media and entertainment world. So many good folks are being sucked into the humanistic philosophy of our day. If its not humanism, then its all out sinful rebellion against Gods revealed will in the bible. Its almost sad to have to report, the amount of youth and adults that have backslidden from the faith. Again, as in the bible verse, we have fallen asleep. Our nation, or churches and our families really need to be awaken. I believe the Lord allows many things to happen, just to get our attention. Our salvation, is to important to be explained away by modern ideology. I know life can be painful, and things can hurt really bad, but if anything shocking can get us to look to God, in the end it can be a good thing. I've learned to stop, and thank God for the Midnight Grace, that came at the right time, and shook me out of sin and compromise. In the parable, oil in the lamps meant, the ability to stay ready until the groom came. Again, thats grace, the God given strength thru the Holy Spirit, to keep us on track in these times of great trial. That grace is availible for each of us, if we just ask. Now is not the time to quit, but now is the time to press in with everything. Jesus is coming, be alert and be ready.
